GREETINGS FROM A SNOWY WINTER NORWAY! Pushing smart choices…

Dear Youth of Choice Supporter

It takes passion to do what we do. And it takes energy, courage and enthusiasm to carry it through. To inspire change, give hope and drive impact – these are not empty words for us. They represent our approach and thinking as an organization. They represent our philosophy. Driven by the need for sustainable social change, we have made some major strides in 2010 and learn through our growth.

We would like to think we are a dynamic youth movement of choice which is different – in the way we think and in the way we are. That is why we at Youth of Choice are continuously carving our path. Because we realize that we cannot make our mark where others have done so before. At Youth of Choice we want to lead the way in driving behavior change among youth and not to lag behind.

Youth of Choice is now in a process of implementing ground breaking ambitious programs and roll out new plans as from next year. We do care deeply about young people and that’s why our programs are geared towards offering practical solutions to real challenges they face. Our immediate operational plans for next year are; strategic planning session, rent an office space, hire staff, launch X Cool factor website, intensify of branding strategy, strengthening our partnerships, increase pool of volunteers, raise a target of R3 million for program activities, increase donor base, improve finance management systems and implement monitoring and evaluation framework. Planned program activities will include, launch ground breaking HIV prevention program - Reach and Teach Campaign, roll out the funded KICK4AIDS, Proud 2B me project, Shoes 4 hope, United Against Hunger, bigger vision – Masibambane Educare, Vulindlela volunteer program, TWC partnership – eBasic and Sport against violence.

Approaching next year, I say we should stick to what we do best, driving social change, nurturing young minds and building future leaders. Let’s find new innovative concepts and sustainable life changing programs that will make a profound impact in the lives of children and youth we come to be in contact with. I have a 2030 vision; Youth of Choice should have a footprint in more than 20 countries and reached more than a 1 million young people globally by 2030. We aggressively need position Youth of Choice as an organization that carries a brand of “cool” which “cares” and seeks to make a “difference” in the lives of young people globally. Young people are looking for brands that are “cool” and should we should vigorously tap into their minds with our program activities that will appeal to them in a fun, educational and a positive way.

Each day as an organization, the board, staff, project leaders, volunteers, supporters and partners we should inspire change, give hope and drive impact no matter what happen. That does not mean that we can never occasional mistake, but strive to deliver on our promise to inspire CHANGE, give HOPE and drive IMPACT.

Let’s approach 2011 with buckets full of energy, courage and enthusiasm to make a difference in our world. I wish you an exciting year ahead and continue to help us to achieve our goals. We are proud to be a charity of choice for you and thank you for your continuous support. If you need any further information please do not hesitate to contact us at info@youthofchoice.org. Your feedback for this year is very important to us in order to continuously improve as an organization.

Together, we can make a difference.
